March 12, 1860: Born in Cheltenham
April 15, 1861: Erik Stenbock (father) dies
June 9, 1864: Lucy Stenbock (mother) marries Francis (Frank) Mowatt
1875-77: Gymnasium in Wiesbaden (studies Russian, prepares for service in the Russian army)
24 April 1879- May 1881: Balliol College, Oxford (4 terms); converts to Catholicism and active in Catholic societies (may have known Gerard Manley Hopkins)
1881: Love, Sleep & Dreams published (Shrimpton, Oxford)
1881-2: London, Wiesbaden, Kolk, St. Petersburg
1883: Myrtle, Rue, and Cypress published (Hatchards, London)
1884: Belgium (Bruges, Antwerp)
February 11, 1885: Grandfather dies, Eric inherits estates
1885-1887: Estonia (Kolk), St. Petersburg
1887-1893/4: London: lived in Chelsea (Sloane Terrace) and Kensington
